The statement contains up-to-date information on the prevalence of FGM/C and new challenges, including medicalization, as well as specific considerations regarding humanitarian contexts, migration, and displacement. Additionally, the statement summarizes the latest findings on effective prevention strategies and survivor-centered care models. Furthermore, with this statement, IPPF advocates for the elimination of all forms of FGM/C and supports adherence to human rights principles and professional ethical standards by healthcare professionals.
